The “French Capital of Culture” label recognises every two years the cultural project of a municipality or group of municipalities from 20,000 to 200,000 inhabitants. The Minister of Culture will then announce the winner of the first edition of the "Capitale française de la culture" label, which will take place from 1er January to December 31, 2022.
